300g Flora Plant BUTTER™, cut into small blocks 140g Selati Castor sugar 500g All purpose flour 1g Cinnamon powder 20g Castor sugar
Preparation (for 4 portion) for
Shortbread dusted with Cinnamon Sugar
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 150C. Grease a 30cm x 20cm baking tray.
- Use an electric mixer to beat the Flora Plant BUTTER and caster sugar until light and creamy.
- Slowly add the flour. Bring dough together in the bowl. Shape into a disc
- Press the dough into the baking container. Smooth the surface. Using a fork indent holes into the dough until the entire dough is covered in holes. Allow to rest in fridge (covered) for 30 minutes
- Bake in the oven for 45-60 minutes, until golden brown. Remove from oven. Using a sieve, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the cooked dough. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, cut desired shapes Place back in the oven with temperature 100C for a further 30-45 minutes to cook through the dough. Allow to cool
Chefs Tips
If you are wanting a stronger cinnamon flavour, add more sugar to the castor sugar.
